War Birds 1 Exclusive
Mr. Trip Galasso was Contest Director of this affair. Trip also flew one of his own planes, a C-47 (DC-3). Here in this picture is Trip posing behind his big plane. It was hard for me to catch Trip still for a second to get his picture. As CD, he was 5 places at one time.
Here is an interesting snap of the front part of a real airplane no longer in service. Just a piece of it. It had been towed to the flying site and the entrepreneur who towed it in was charging $5 to have ones picture taken in the pilots seat.
Here is Fred Clark again with his Great Plains F-4 prop jet. Powered by a Super Tigre .91. It flew very well.
Armen Farmanian and Bill benner are shown here with Armen's prop driven U.S. Navy Turbine. Armen and Bill are from Riverview, Florida.
Jim Kiehl here with his ME-112 ducted fan model plane that flies at 120 Mph. You notice in the background of some of these pictures a large sign, black on orange, that says "Hobbie Warehouse". This sign was at the entrance of the flight runway strip beside the paved entrance for planes about to fly. I cleverly positioned myself near this sign so I could get pictures of the important flyer with their planes in readiness. I expected to be told to leave but in never happened.
